Aperture 3.6. and Photo 1.5

As it was indicated to me by a message from Aperture 3.6. when re-installing it yesterday that the libraries of Aperture and Photo could now be opened with both programs I wanted to try. However, Aperture crashed twice when I tried to open the media library in Photo (menu: File/ open media library in Photo) and Photo did not open.

On the other hand I could not find out how to open an Photo library in Aperture as the menu described in the above Aperture message does not exist. There is even no menu - as exists in Aperture like File/open another library for changing the Photo library.

Can somebody help?

Thank you very much in advance.

What was the exact message? Perhaps it is a misunderstanding.

As far as I know, you can open Aperture libraries and iPhoto Libraries in Aperture 3.6 (use the menu entry "File > Switch to library"). But Aperture 3.6 cannot open Photos for Mac Libraries.

Photos can open its own Photos for Mac Libraries, Aperture Libraries, iPhoto Libraries.

And you can use the command "Share > Add to Aperture" in Photos to add selected images from Photos to the Aperture Library.

Not sure what you saw but what you think you saw is not correct

Under El Captain if you have Aperture 3.6.1 and iPhoto 9.6.1 then either can open any iPhoto or Aperture library

Neither can open any Photos library

and Photos can not open any iPhoto or Aperture library - it can migrate library form either but this is a single event and once a library is migrated to Photos the original iPhoto or Aperture library is totally separate from the Photos library and no changes made to either are reflected in the other

If you need additional information provide details and exact messages so we can heop you understand
